Critical Role Season Four Reveals the Warriors Table

Since the launch of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a wide array of characters, and a exciting storyline showcasing angels, fiends, and sinister influences increasing in power within Dol-Makjar.

Heads-up: Revealing details for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 are included.

The Soldiers Table Introduced

Episode 3 finished on a huge suspense moment and introduced the premier party of heroes who will separate from the primary party to undertake their independent quest, distinct from the additional parties.

The Soldiers table features the determined fighter (played by Travis Willingham), Thimble (the talented performer), Tyranny (the cast member), Wicander (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).

The Reason for Division

With 13 cast members, it was clear from the beginning that having everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.

That’s why, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, intertwining the personal journeys before dividing into three separate parties: Soldiers, Planners, and Explorers.

Characteristics of the Warrior Group

Per the DM, the combat-focused party is for players who prefer a typically action-packed battle-oriented gameplay experience where non-violent answers are few and far between.

Initially, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander might appear mismatched, but the actions of episode 3 show why these particular heroes are best suited for the combat party.

Reasons to Leave

To begin with, the group understands precisely where to head next after a brutal opening clash with The Crow Keepers.

Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose death initiated the campaign’s events—used the enemy for his own means, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting the rogue, and taking all the powerful objects to sell off.

The traitor then paid off his obligations and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.

Individual Reasons

Additionally, each adventurer has a specific drive to depart Dol-Makjar:

  • The agile hero, as the companion and trusted friend, desires retribution.
  • The adventurer knows the region and warns that it is a hostile environment.
  • The warrior and The healer, having defied his relatives’ demands to execute the target and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
  • Yet, their status as key figures in the powerful family could assist the party access areas they normally couldn’t.
  • Additionally, The grateful character vowed a life debt to Wicander for his rescue and will now go with him wherever.

Wanted and Hunted

Finally, all of them are sought by the rulers that control the city for a multiple motives, making staying in the city too risky:

  • The rogue and The hero are notorious outlaws.
  • The warrior and The healer betrayed House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
  • The target is targeted for elimination by the family.

This results in them few options but to journey toward the northern region in quest for the traitor.
