Cars in Germany's City Found Smeared with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Law Enforcement State

Officers reported they were alerted by a resident who found a vehicle in Hanau smeared with reddish substance

Around fifty cars have been marked with what seems to be human blood in the Germany's municipality of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by police.

Cars, exterior walls and postal boxes were vandalized, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they stated in a release.

Police report they were alerted during the night on Wednesday night, when a individual discovered that a car in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued substance.

The liquid had been placed in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they added.

Police then located numerous other marked vehicles and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws banning the public display of Nazi-era symbols.

Police state preliminary tests suggest the substance was most likely blood from a person.

"Currently there is no indication as to its source; investigators are currently not cognizant of any physical harm in connection with the incident," they added.

Local authorities said they were trying "to unravel the case" and have asked to the community for information.

A high-ranking representative commented the vandalism left him speechless and required to be solved rapidly.

"This event strikes at the center of Hanau and revives the wounds of the far-right terrorist attack five years ago," he wrote on online, referring to the murder of nine individuals by a shooter aiming at people of immigrant origin in 2020.
